Under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission ( COM) IOM Nigeria , under the direct supervision of the National Project Director with the direction of the Chief Immigration Border Management Program (IBM) , the successful candidate will provide expert assistance in the production and supply of products reporting to the European multiannual Union ( EU) – funded IOM project ” promoting better management of migration in Nigeria .” Location: Abuja
Duties / Responsibilities Basic
Manage and update the content of the
project website and other social networking accounts to be launched for this
project. Research, compile and present basic information for use in the
preparation and production of products / services of communication.
Provide inputs to the appropriate means of communication for project activities
Liaise with media professionals identified to coordinate coverage of major events and provide information on the activities of the migration project EU / IOM, positive , consistent and credible
Coordinate implementation with the implementing partner UNODC IOM project
Assist the National Project Manager in the organization of meetings of the Project Management Unit ( PMU) and the Review Committee of sectoral policies ( CSEP )
Development of information materials ( paper and electronic brochures , pamphlets, etc. ) including semi – annual or monthly e- newsletter based on identified needs
Disseminate information materials on projects approved by the appropriate channels
Assist the National Project Manager in the preparation of annual / interim reports for the donor of the project
Coordinate with the relevant departments and consolidate regional quarterly reports.
If necessary, participate in coordination meetings with government counterparts , NGOs and other stakeholders , in close coordination with the supervisor.
Initiate duty travel if necessary
Perform such other duties as may be assigned Desirable skills :

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
a university degree ) completed an
accredited institution in international relations , social sciences, economics,
law , humanitarian affairs or a
related field , b ) five years of experience in
communication , on the grounds of media engagement that includes written
comments befitting a standard international organization is essential . c )
Experience in supporting all aspects of project management and familiarity with
international standards and EU regulations a plus. d) Knowledge of social and
development issues as well as general issues related to migration , e) Strong
planning , coordination and computer skills .
language:
Have strong oral communication
skills , including good and very good written English . Knowledge of French is
an asset.
